From the moment you turn into the driveway, you’re sure to fall for the charms of fabulous Craigard. With the feel of a grand old Highland lodge - complete with turrets, large lawn, wine cellar, high ceilings, stained glass windows and certainly one of the most impressive staircases in the Strath - Craigard has the wow factor throughout. But it also comes with modern luxuries like a large outdoor hot tub, cinema room, games room and rain showers. With incredibly spacious rooms over three floors, and a separate mews annexe, there is room for two or three families to take over this magnificent property for an extremely special holiday in this beautiful part of Speyside. The reception rooms and most of the bedrooms enjoy fantastic views out over the garden towards the mountains. You’re just a short walk from the village centre, and only 10 minutes drive from either Aviemore or Grantown too.
Off the main entrance hall is your huge drawing room. With big deep sofas, stunning views to the garden and mountains and a vast dining table, you might imagine you’d spend most of your evenings relaxing in here. However across the entrance hall is another elegant and comfortable sitting room in which you may prefer to relax over after-dinner drinks!
Also on this floor is the entrance to the wine cellar, which you can stock with your favourite vintage if planning a special occasion. But there is more than enough room for a week’s worth of champagne in the wine fridge in Craigard’s huge kitchen. It also has a double range oven, island and dining table, and all the appliances you’d expect in any modern luxury kitchen.
Up the glorious carved wood staircase you’ll find an expansive master bedroom which overlooks the garden. It has its own delightful little turret, and an ensuite with rolltop bath and shower. There are two further large double bedrooms and a twin with ensuite shower room on this floor, as well as a bath and shower room, and a shower room with a loo.
Up to the second floor and another double bedroom, a turreted twin room and a single - all of which overlook the gardens. There’s also a bathroom with bath and shower and a loo on this floor. But the most exciting room up here must be the huge cinema room, with giant projector screen, sound system and an array of comfy sofas to settle into for a night of your favourite films. There’s also a mini kitchen in here (including another wine fridge) so you don’t even need to go downstairs for your movie snacks!
Out of the front door with views over the golf course to the hills beyond is the outdoor dining area, with large bubbling hot tub found to the side of the house. To the rear is the mews annexe, which you enter through french windows to reach its games room with pool table, table tennis and table football. Upstairs is a handy little apartment should you need it, with double bedroom, sitting and kitchen area, shower room and loo.
The Craigard grounds are large and enclosed so perfect for ball games and family fun. If you return after a day in the Cairngorms a bit wetter and muddier than when you left, the large side porch of the main house is kept warm enough to hang all your outdoor clothes and footwear - and even ski gear - to dry overnight. Off this is your utility room with washing machine and dryer.
It’s just a short walk down Kinchurdy Road into Boat of Garten village, or turn left out of the house to join the Speyside Way which takes you on foot or bicycle all the way to Aviemore. Eight cars can comfortably be accommodated outside if required.
There are few houses in this area that can accommodate so many in such style and luxurious comfort, and none that will capture your heart quite like captivating Craigard.
Craigard Lodge is in a family orientated location with some lovely neighbours nearby.

"As ever on our sixth visit, Craigard Lodge caters wonderfully for all of our needs and is an excellent base for our annual Boat of Garten golf trip - now in it's 49th year. " August 2022
"This is our 8th time here and we can honestly say each time gets better and better. We loved coming to stay here. We love every room, it never fails to impress us. Having the lights and heating on when we arrived was a nice touch. We class this house our second home and cant wait to come back. " January 2020
"We had an absolutely brilliant holiday in Craigard Lodge! We know Boat of Garten and the area quite well but this was the first time that we’d had a family holiday there together. The Lodge was fabulous and we so enjoyed all the amenities that it offers. We very much appreciated the welcome tray of goodies - a lovely thought. We also appreciated our Golden Wedding Anniversary card being hand delivered to us - my brother, in Spain, was very keen that it arrived when we were in Boat of Garten, as the family holiday was to celebrate our anniversary. We would very much like to come back to one of your lodges, in fact, our son was already checking your website before we left, but, like us a year past January when we booked the Lodge, others have been doing the same and booking! But we will be having a family discussion soon so will see what transpires. Thank you for all your help in difficult times," July 2021
"We had a fabulous time at Craigard Lodge, it is a beautiful house in a lovely setting. It had everything we needed for a family holiday, celebrating all the special birthday’s we had missed due to COVID-19. We had a mixture of ages from 6yrs to 70’s and there was something for everyone, some of the activities undertaken were hot tub, walking, zip lining, quad biking and barbecue. I would certainly recommend your company to friends and would hope to use you again in the future." September 2021
"Absolutely superb!! Our second stay here in this fantastic house - looking forward to many more!" October 2022
"Fantastic, an amazing house, loved it, until the next time. Enjoyed living in a grand home for a few days. " October 2022
"We had a fantastic stay in Craigard Lodge over Christmas. The house was amazing, the welcome pack of treats was lovely and the beautiful Christmas tree made the house feel very special. When we arrived there had been freezing fog which made everything look like a scene from a Christmas card! The kids loved the cinema room and even had a sleepover in there. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub, even when it was -4 outside. The games room was a great place to escape from the noise of 4 excited children! The huge dining table was great for Christmas dinner and we sourced some offcuts of pine and holly to make the table look festive. " December 2021
"Fantastic start to the New Year 2023. House was so comfortable and the views and sunrises fantastic. We will return!!" January 2023
