LODGE FLOORPLAN

Love contemporary interiors? Then expect serious house envy at Tomdhu Lodge! It’s been exquisitely designed to be a sleek but endlessly practical take on luxury contemporary Highland holiday living. Look past the gorgeous furnishings and elegant, minimalist fittings and you’ll see that this beautiful house has been very cleverly built, finished and equipped to provide all the features you’ll ever need on a self-catered holiday. But you’ll also discover some wonderfully thoughtful extras, which take your Cairngorms escape to the next level of stress-free relaxation and luxury.

The hub of this house is the huge open-plan, double-height living, dining and kitchen area. With glass along two sides, you can really take in the wonderful views towards Boat of Garten, but the inside is pretty fantastic too. In the centre is the double-sided wood burning stove with its statement chimneypiece of granite, slate and lapped larch. On the other side to the living area is a large dining table, the ideal spot for a bit of after-dinner route-planning. Because next to it is the oversized OS map of the entire Cairngorms area – the first clue that this place has been designed by someone who really loves the adventurous outdoor life.

The kitchen is a foodie’s dream; not only do you have a stylish and practical island to work and serve up on, but you also have a really well-stocked arsenal of cookware and tableware, a Nespresso machine and even your own spacious butler’s pantry! Rather brilliantly, it contains a bank of Tupperware and napkins - ideal for preparing a picnic or packed lunch for all eight of you to spend a day on the hills.

Off the hallway from the kitchen is your sumptuous family shower room, and the wide entrance porch. This has been fitted out so that your departure and return each day is as smooth a process as possible, whatever the weather outside. Lots of space to sit and put on or remove boots and wet clothing – but to make your life even easier, a separate laundry and drying room to one side. Washer, tumble drier, heated clothes rail, clothes airer, boot rack and lots of hanging space – the perfect place to dry all your waterproofs, ski wear, even wetsuits, ready for the next day. There is even a large comfortable dog bed for those pets who like to curl up somewhere cosy and quiet after a day bounding about the mountains!

Further along the hall is another luxurious family bathroom with both shower and very deep bathtub. There are two double bedrooms with king size beds on the ground floor, whilst the twin bedrooms sit at either side of the top of the staircase. All four bedrooms are decorated in a cool and contemporary style designed to provide you with a really relaxing retreat at the very end of your day.

To seriously unwind though, you’ll want to spend some time in the evenings enjoying the large 8-person hot tub right outside the patio doors, where there’s also an outdoor dining area and firepit.

You could not ask for a more beautifully designed and comprehensively equipped house than Tomdhu Lodge, whether your adventures involve high mountain walking, climbing, skiing or simply enjoying the fresh air and views of our stunning part of the Highlands. We’re sure that a stay here will inspire you to live the Cairngorms life in all its exciting possibilities!

"Thanks for a fantastic week at your amazing lodge! Loved the hot tub and fire. Lots of skiing, biking, skating, walking, tennis, sledging and eating and drinking. We even saved a sheep in the surrounding field who was tangled in the fence. Hope we’ll be back again! " February 2022

"The house certainly has the wow factor. The place is excellently appointed. Good to watch the stunning sunsets while in the hot tub. Also in said hot tub with the frost around in the morning. Peaceful. A real treat is to stay in this luxurious lodge. " March 2020

"What a lovely place to spend the weekend with our family. A surprise holiday for my 60th! Gorgeous lodge, very cosy and a lovely touch with the 'welcome pack'. The hot tub is amazing and the drying room especially useful after our walks. We will be recommending here for a stay. To top it all beautiful views and I have just been told we are zip wiring on the way home. Perfect end to a perfect stay. " April 2022

"We've thoroughly enjoyed our week at Tomdhu Lodge. So much to do around the area. We made use of the firepit and relaxed in the hot tub in the evening. Hope to be back again. " May 2022

"We had a great time at Tomdhu Lodge; its a beautiful, comfortable & warm home with great views and in a great location. The house was also clean and tidy, and Judith & Tanja provided great customer service. We wouldn’t hesitate to book via Seasgair again and would book Tomdhu again" September 2020

"Thanks for the email. We had an absolutely fantastic time. We found the house to be immaculately clean and beautifully presented on arrival. The level of detail with regards the welcome pack, card, jam and coffee etc was first class. We were also pleasantly surprised at the amount of utensils stocked - it really had absolutely everything we needed. I actually can't think of anything else that would have improved our stay. My six and two year old girls had a fantastic time with our friends eight year old girl and six year old boy - sadly it all passed far too quickly! We are getting together this weekend to discuss arranging our visit for next year :)" September 2020

"Yet another beautiful lodge from Seasgair. We are never disappointed having visited a number of their lodges previously. Tomdhu is in a great location close to both Boat of Garten and Nethy Bridge. There are numerous walks to explore close by. Swimming in Loch Vaa is great and just a 10 minute drive. The view from the lodge is stunning. Birds of prey, deer, hares and the resident large frog frequently pass by. The lodge itself was once again spotless. It has all modern facilities, very well decorated and is very spacious. The open plan kitchen/ living room is just fantastic for family dining. The team are always friendly and available to assist you if required. I would highly recommend this lodge and would have no hesitation in returning." August 2021
